Happy Hour of Crochet

“Once on Christmas Eve, I was trying to think of an extraordinary gift for my best friend, and none of the options selling at the stores fit the bill. I considered a Christmas tree ornament, but only plastic plain spheres were available. Then I remembered that I used to crochet, and thought what could be more beautiful and festive than crochet with seed beads? So I’ve created my very first Christmas tree ornament using the bead crochet technique. There was a baby deer illustrated on the ornament, and it came out sparkly and remarkable. So I created my shop in case somebody like me is in search of something unique.

After discovering a pair of antique shoe buckles in her mother’s dresser drawer, Judith founded JW Reilly – Boston in 2009 and began formulating a fresh spin on an old classic. She patented her design for sterling silver ladies’ shoe buckles in 2012 and they remain unlike anything else on the market today.

Since the company’s inception, she has expanded her designs to include medallions, cuff bracelets, bangles, and money clips. They are all hand-engraved with either monograms, family crests, or a variety of seasonal, gem-embellished motifs. Each piece is made-to-order by New England Craftsmen, using the same hand-hammered technique invented centuries ago.

We hope you enjoy these beautiful pieces as much as the designer has enjoyed creating them.

After graduating from Northeastern, spending a few years as an IRS agent, a few years in public accounting, and becoming a CPA, he was joined by his daughter at the company.
