This networking session was a great opportunity for those established in their positions, looking for their next step, or curious about how to enter the field.

Being Unapologetically Dope in CS with Dr. Nicki Washington

Join us for a discussion with Dr. Nicki Washington, professor of the practice of computer science at Duke University. We will discuss her book, Unapologetically Dope: Lessons for Black Women and Girls on Surviving and Thriving in the Tech Field, CS for All, and focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion issues in the tech industry by measuring and improving the cultural competence of students in computing departments nationwide, including the development of assessments and courses dedicated to this work.

School of Law Alumni/ae Weekend 2020

The School of Law at Northeastern presented the first-ever virtual Reunion and Alumni/ae Weekend. It was a weekend of fun and friendship as we honored the classes of the 1950s, '75, '80, '85, '90, '95, '00, '05, '10, and '15. The keynote speaker was Massachusetts Senate President Karen Spilka, L’80.

The History of Brunch and How to Host a Perfectly Proper Pandemic Brunch with the Etiquetteer

Brunch was one of the biggest social innovations of the 20th century, taking off in the post-World War II years when America began embracing a less formal lifestyle. Hosted by Danielle Messler SSH’13, creator of the Boston Brunch Guide, with Etiquetteer, Robert B. Dimmick, we learned about the history and evolution of brunch as a social occasion, and tips to host a Perfectly Proper brunch in your own home before, during, and after the pandemic.
