Cooking with Chef Dave Martin

You didn’t have to wait for restaurants to gradually re-open to kick off summer with a food and wine pairing menu! The San Diego Community hosted Bravo’s Top Chef Celebrity, Dave Martin for a virtual hour of demonstrating comfort food classics. They said, “Yes, Chef!” as they were guided through the preparation of a 3-course meal without the wait. These dishes could also be prepared using an Instant Pot to fit everyone’s scheduling needs. Whether you were looking to wow dinner guests, or simply up your game in the kitchen, there was a place for everyone to join in on the fun.

Huskies Hands-On: Learn to Salsa with SyC

Rookie salsa dancers started their winter Friday night mastering some very basic footwork, twirls and shimmies – at a studio tucked away in Allston. All attendees swapped partners throughout the class, making for great participation overall. Main assistant, Andres and his instructor did a great job of creating a welcoming and judgement-free atmosphere.

Huskies Hands-On: Milk Street Cooking Demo & Tasting

Food connoisseurs gathered around the grill at Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street Cooking School for a sizzling demonstration followed by a sit down dinner. There are those who eat to live, but this bunch truly live to eat and shared some of their fondest culinary accomplishments, while munching on tahini brownies.

Huskies Hands-On: Pasta Making

It takes a village to cook five pasta dishes (Ravioli Ai Funghi, Pansotti Ai Gamberetti E Zucchine, Pesto Alla Genovese, Cappellacci Alle Melanzane With Al Pomodoro, Sugo Alla Salsiccia) and a tiramisu parfait simultaneously, but this group had no fears. After a family-style meal, the evening concluded with almost everyone hugging our private chef.
