While TV medical dramas have ruled entertainment for decades, Dr. Washington, AS’05, was putting in the real work. She received her medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, and was the first Black woman to be admitted into the residency program. From a private practice in Texas to a prestigious surgery fellowship in Oregon, Dr. Washington is a lifelong learner, now specializing in liver and pancreatic procedures.

February 23, 2021 - Josh Belinsky, DMSB’18, and Manny Lubin, AMD’15, founded Slate Milk in 2018. In 2019, they successfully launched their natural, low sugar, high protein, lactose-free chocolate milks, and their sleek cans can be found in grocery stores across the country. In the early stages of building the company, they received help from IDEA and refined their branding with Scout. Read more about their story here.

February 23, 2021 - Generate, operating under the Michael and Ann Sherman Center for Engineering Entrepreneurship Education, is Northeastern's student-led product development studio. Teams of students connect with clients to work together on engineering product development for early stage startups. Aimed at fostering entrepreneurial engineering on campus, the organization has partnered with clients to help build new technologies.
