We’re bringing Northeastern to you!
The university is expanding beyond boundaries, and our global communities are going strong. Northeastern Near You brings programs from the Office of Alumni Relations, along with the essence, and spirit of the university to your backyard!
Join us for a variety of events to reconnect with your fellow Huskies, meet current students and co-op members in your community, keep updated on the university’s progress, and strengthen your bond with your local Northeastern community.
Stay tuned for where we are heading next!
New York City
In April we spent a week in New York City. Over 200 alumni and friends enjoyed a wide range of activities including a community service day with Concrete Safaris, an alumna led yoga class, a pasta-making class, a Circa Brewing outing in Brooklyn, a family day at the Bronx zoo, an an afterHOURS social event at the 40/40 club. The week was headlined by a Northeastern Circuits event: Journey to the New York Times, featuring Michael Slackman, AMD’84, International Editor of the NYTimes.
In February over 450 of your fellow Northeastern alumni, students, parents, staff, and friends joined the fun at Jetblue Park. Guests had the opportunity to meet Paws and Wally, get signatures and photographs from former Red Sox pitcher, Derek Lowe, and hear about exciting new university initiatives. The day was filled with energy and excitement.
Our Northeastern Near You series kicked off in September 2017 with a tour across the state of California. More than a hundred of you joined us for 13 events, in 9 cities, over 6 days! Huskies were turned on their heads (literally!) in a paddleboard yoga class in Marina del Rey, trained in classical French techniques in a macaron-making class in San Francisco, gathered for a community barbeque in La Jolla, and brought behind the scenes in the entertainment industry in Los Angeles!CLOSE
