Black Health Matters is a student-led contact-a-thon fundraiser to raise money for grassroots organizations dedicated to improving the health of Black and LGBTQ+ communities led by Northeastern University Global Health Initiative (NUGHI) in partnership with several other student organizations.
The Birth of Boston Project is an online map of the residents of Boston in 1648. Chris Parsons worked with graduate students to bring sophisticated digital research tools to uncover the forgotten history of early settlers, including those of enslaved Americans, women, and the laboring class who are often overlooked in the history of our city’s founding. In this presentation, Chris will share the results of the project -- a digital snapshot of lives, relationships and Boston society in 1648 -- and discuss its value to the city and beyond.
Climate change has been a critical, and many times polarizing, conversation around the country. Michael Green will speak about the global efforts to address climate change. Solutions are manifesting themselves as new policies, technology, social movements. Michael will share thoughts based on his extensive knowledge of policy and climate science, having lead Climate XChange, a Boston based nonprofit focused on carbon pricing advocacy media and research.
