Power, Privilege, and Transformation: Lessons from the Pandemic for Online Legal Education

The University of Miami School of Law, in partnership with the AALS Journal of Legal Education, hosted a virtual symposium to discuss the ways in which the COVID-19 pandemic has transformed legal education in the United States. Northeastern Law Professors Jeremy Paul and Margaret Woo, co-editors of the Journal of Legal Education, were panel moderators.

SCOTUS Focus Over Coffee

Two long-time friends and professors of law discussed the recent surprising Supreme Court rulings. Attendees were invited to join Professor Emerita Judy Brown and Matthews Distinguished University Professor Wendy Parmet over coffee or tea (virtually). Both of these legal powerhouses have taught Constitutional Law extensively and, although Brown retired in 2001, she still teaches Constitutional Law in continuing education programs at the University of Arizona, and, up until last year, at Dartmouth, as well. Parmet is a nationally known health law expert and head of Northeastern Law's Center for Health Policy and Law.

This panel was presented by the Center for Law, Innovation and Creativity (CLIC) as part of its summer series of expert-driven conversations about the future of surveillance technology, and was produced in partnership with the law school’s Center for Public Interest Advocacy and Collaboration and the Program on Human Right and the Global Economy. John Wihbey, Assistant Professor, School of Journalism, was a featured panelist.

A team of Northeastern alumni from Deloitte hosted a private and exclusive workshop on the Business Chemistry® framework, which, through a short assessment, identified participants' profile and give language to describe their workstyles. Attendees learned how to use the knowledge of your profile type to adjust your communication and strengthen relationships.
