Neighborhood Matters Screening: Reel In The Closet

Tuesday, Dec. 6 | 6:30–8 p.m.
Raytheon Amphitheater

Reel In The Closet is the latest feature-length documentary that connects the viewers with queer people from the past through the home movies that they left behind. To make it, filmmaker Stu Maddox searched through closets, attics, and archives around the world to discover home movies, recorded news stories, and community productions; some of which date back to the 1930s. This film offers a glimpse into the real lives of GLBTQ people from the past through hundreds of never-before-seen home movies.

After the screening, Lee West of the LGBTQA Resource Center will hosting a panel discussion featuring Northeastern student Jackson Powell.

This event is presented as part of Neighborhood Matters which celebrates the ways in which community groups have shaped the neighborhoods surrounding the Northeastern campus. This series is co-curated by the Northeastern Center for the Arts and the Archives and Special Collections at the Northeastern University Library.
