The Northeastern family includes more than our alumni. We want to ensure our parents, students, and friends of the university feel welcome at events and gatherings around the world. We welcome all members of the Northeastern community to explore opportunities, events, and programs in their region.

Many alumni often have a special connection to an Affinity Group which played a pivotal role in enriching their student experience. These groups, whether based on ethnicity, interest, or vocation, serve as important cultural or professional connections that often last well beyond their time at Northeastern.

  • Affinity Groups

Affinity groups draw together those whose experiences at the university were greatly enhanced by these different organizations as part of the larger Northeastern community. Northeastern’s affinity groups help alumni connect through shared interests or activities such as academic clubs, cultural organizations, community service, student clubs, and special interest groups. Many enjoy a more fortified connection to the university because of their association with — and continued support of — these important groups.

We are currently working with the following affinity groups

      • Alpha Kappa Sigma

  • Huntington 100

Sponsored by the Office of Student Life, the Huntington 100 (formerly the 100 Most Influential Seniors), honors outstanding students for achievements which are commensurate with the university’s mission, ideals, values, and Academic Plan. These students represent what Northeastern is today – a selective institution with rigorous academic programs and a sharp focus on the global experience.

Once inducted, the Office of Alumni Relations keeps members of the Huntington 100 active within the Northeastern community by offering opportunities to connect with each other and the university.

  • Young Global Leaders

The Young Global Leaders (YGL) is a group of globally-minded young alumni from around the world. They provide assistance and advice to university leadership as well as develop new forms of engagement with successful young alumni. Members also implement and host unique content-based programs for alumni and their families, and advance Northeastern, by making consistent investments in the university. And because they live and work internationally as well as domestically, they are of the utmost importance in supporting Northeastern’s growth as a global university. YGL members serve as ambassadors by cultivating the university’s presence abroad, expanding our rich culture, and strengthening our impact in all corners of the world.
