The Senior Legacy program is a student–driven campaign that educates seniors about the importance of philanthropic support of Northeastern, and engages them as donors to the university through a Senior Legacy gift.
Your Participation is Essential!
As current students who have directly benefited from gifts to the university, seniors are uniquely equipped to understand the importance of philanthropic support of Northeastern. The Senior Legacy program provides the opportunity to pay it forward by financially supporting the program or initiative most important to you, helping to ensure its existence for the next generation of students. But we’re not just about fundraising – past Senior Legacy activities have included a kick-off event in Curry West Addition, bingo nights and brunch at Conor Larkins, the Senior Soiree holiday event in December, a Senior/Young Alumni Social on Giving Day, and lots more.
The Senior Legacy campaign closes with an amazing gala event during Senior Week and the presentation of the class gift to President Aoun at commencement. Last year more than 70% of the senior class invested in Northeastern with a Senior Legacy gift.
Senior Legacy Committee
The Senior Legacy Committee (SLC), in partnership with the Office of Alumni Relations (OAR), is a group of dedicated and motivated seniors who lead the Senior Legacy program. The SLC commits to planning and organizing a variety of activities during the senior year to strengthen the bond between fellow seniors, and encourage their peers to give back. In return, they get the opportunity to have their voices heard, build leadership skills, and get hands-on management and project planning experience. The committee serves as the liaison between the senior class and Office of Alumni Relations. Most of all, this group of seniors love Northeastern and have a lot of Husky Pride!
The SLC serves as ambassadors of the OAR to ensure that the graduating class can have a tailored and memorable senior year experience.
SLC helps unite peers by sharing Northeastern’s message of philanthropy, developing a strong sense of class pride, and hosting exciting events. They are a diverse and dedicated group of enthusiastic seniors who are passionate about the university, and want to have their voices heard. The Senior Legacy Committee offers a unique opportunity for the graduating class to set the standard for student giving at Northeastern.
