Who is a member of the Northeastern Alumni Association?

All Northeastern graduates who have received a degree are automatically members of the Alumni Association, free of charge.

How do I claim my alumni account and email?

This should only be utilized by alumni who graduated in 2007 or earlier. To claim your alumni account and email, visit the Account Claim Process page to claim your Northeastern login credentials.

  1. Enter your first name, last name, class year, and NU ID (the nine-digit code from the mailing label of the Northeastern Magazine, at the bottom of emails from the Office of Alumni Relations, or call the Alumni Office at 617.373.2656). If you encounter any problems with your NU ID, send an email that includes your current full name (and your full name as a student, if different), class year, school, and major, to
  2. Choose your username, password, security question, and security answer.
  3. Click on the “Continue” button – a web page will show if you have successfully claimed a valid username and password.
  4. To access your Husky email navigate to HuskyGmail ( and enter the username and password you selected.

Will people be able to view my information in the alumni directory?

Only other registered alumni and current Northeastern University seniors, juniors, and graduate students are able to search the directory. You can control what information is viewable and which remains hidden.

You can choose to hide information by selecting the gray “Edit” buttons for each section, clicking on the boxes in the Hide column for each row of information to the right, and then selecting the “Save” button at the bottom of the page. If a checkbox shows in the box, that row of information will not be displayed for other alumni, only to you.

You may also choose to opt out of the directory (not even your name and degree will be shown) by editing your directory preferences on our Alumni Directory Opt-Out form.

What is the Northeastern Alumni Network app and how does it work?

Available on both the iOS and Android platforms, the application is designed to allow you to locate and securely connect with other members of the Northeastern community in your area and around the world. The app includes a directory integrated with LinkedIn, maps, photos, and more.


I’ve forgotten my online community username and password. How do I retrieve this information?

To obtain your username, go to the Northeastern Identity Manager page, then enter your first name, last name, class year, and NU ID (the nine-digit code located at the bottom of emails from the Office of Alumni Relations, the mailing label of the Alumni Magazine, or call the Alumni Office at 617.373.2656). If you encounter any difficulties, send an email that includes your current full name (and full name as a student, if different), class year, school, and major, to

To reset your password, visit the Forgot your myNEU username? page and enter the appropriate information on the screen. If you have set up your security questions and answers, you will be prompted to supply this information. If not, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations at 617.373.2656 or for help with your password.

How do I let the university know about my new address?

You can update your contact information through the Update Your Information form via the online community directory, or you can send an email to If emailing, please include both your old and new contact information. How do I send in a class note?

Recently promoted? Newly married? Published? Share the news with your classmates. Submit a class note for publication in the Northeastern University Magazine via the online directory class notes feature or by emailing Please include your year of graduation and school affiliation. Since the alumni magazine is published two times each year, deadlines for notes are about two months prior to the publication date.

I’m not receiving the Northeastern University Magazine. How do I get on the mailing list?

If you are not receiving the magazine, we probably don’t have your correct address. Update your contact information in the online community directory, on our Update Your Information form, or send your current address to



How do I get in touch with former classmates?

You can reconnect in person at class reunions or by joining your local Northeastern community. You can also search for their contact information in the online directory if you are a registered member. Northeastern privacy policy prevents us from sharing information about our alumni, but we can forward messages to them on your behalf if we have current contact information. If you would like us to send a message to a former classmate on your behalf, please contact our office at or 617.373.2656.

If I register for a paid-admission event and can no longer attend due to illness or other commitments, am I eligible for a refund?

What continuing education courses are available to alumni?

Northeastern offers many educational opportunities for alumni. In addition to continuing education programs through the College of Professional Studies, the Office of Alumni Relations also offers a lecture series, NU@Noon, and other academically oriented programs. Where can I find information on career services and networking opportunities?

Our newly launched suite of career-focused programming provides a valuable gateway for alumni to enhance their professional opportunities. How do I get a copy of my transcript?

The Registrar’s Office handles all transcript requests.

How can I get help finding a job?

The career center section of our Alumni Services and Benefits offers many great resources, including alumni- and recruiter-submitted job postings. Regionally, alumni events provide excellent networking opportunities. You can also search the online directory for alumni working in the field you are interested in to inquire about an informational interview. If you are a seasoned professional able to offer guidance to a fellow graduate, these services offer opportunities to help.

Do alumni have access to the Snell Library? How do I access the library’s online database?

Alumni are invited to borrow materials from the library’s impressive collection, connect from off campus to select online research databases, and partake in award-winning reference and instructional programs. Alumni can log into library services using the same credentials used to access Husky Nation, the alumni online community. Some in-person library services require a Northeastern Alumni ID card, which can be obtained at the Husky Card Office located at 4 Speare Commons.
